The tall southpaw has won a string of titles as an amateur, latterly for Earlsfield ABC. Born in 1992, he started in the sport early - at the age of 6. He went on to box at every level, including on the International stage where he boxed in the Olympic qualifiers. He cites his best moment in boxing so far as "winning my first title, which was the ABA National Gold Belt Championship" (in 2006).
Lerrone's amateur career culminated in March with him winning the London 75kg final. After teaming up with trainer Brian Lawrence, he plans to campaign at super middleweight, and says “prepare to be entertained!”.
